they smile when they are low

The entire cast of this Fox/Naked Angels production got together in one place for perhaps the last time tonight – since there are seven different shows and no real "curtain call," the bows were videotaped to be shown at the end of each evening. If I were one of the actors, I might be a little put off by this (the curtain call is one of the greatest moments you get in theater) but I suppose there's just too many human beings performing.

You may recognize some folks in the above picture: Melissa Joan Hart is wearing a blue shirt, sitting next to the bald man in the football jersey in the second row; Missy Yager (who shines in Tessa's play) was in "Boston Public" and is the blonde wearing the black shirt near the center of the back row.

My own cast, whom I believe to be fantastic, are the ones that actually look like a family at the bottom left part of the picture. Just as they memorized the entire script, they were given four pages of cuts, and thus had to re-learn a similar version - which, if you've done theater, you know is a particularly hard thing to do.

I was nervous for them, since this was the first real tech rehearsal (we open on Friday) but they gave it their best performance to date. I'll explain the whole idea of my play later, but suffice to say it is a deceptively difficult political comedy with a lot of moments of true love and utter vulgarity (we even considered using the word "felching" for one part, but cooler heads prevailed). I'm really proud of them. I feel like they nailed the triple axel and made it to the medal round.

Next up: the dress rehearsal!

I've no contact with known people. We enjoy t.v., theatre, movies, music but i've not ever to my recollection personally met a performer or celebrity. My whole hands on experience with the arts would consist of backstage help in jr. high theatre and singing in the jr. choir. My assumption has always been regardless of how "known" a person gets they still have to function as human beings... do normal stuff the rest of us do. But as a People magazine junkie, these folks are obviously most of the time presented to be anything but normal. I'm thinking you and yours seem to be either known or know people, well your pictures always come across as fun, showing normal folks having a good time. Chances are the dairly perks are just bigger than those of us living the average "normal" life. My feeling tends to be, if one is providing others with entertainment, or even good deeds they deserve the little extras in life. Wishing you and yours the occasional perk!

I just watched an episode of rugrats with Lauren and realized while commenting on whom i've not met, I left out writers. And i'd probably like to chat with a writer/author most of all. Like whoever writes for Nick. Rugrats is some good writing. I'm thinking the old stuff, the new... 'Rugrats in Paris' is a movie i'd recommend to just about anyone. And if any of you have met Janet Evanovich i'm jealous - I blew through the first nine Plum books and am anxiously awaiting the 10th. I'd be at one one her signings/release events in a minute but she always releases in the spring, and spring is little league season to which My husband is a devote (obsessed) little league coach - I must make due with her web page, which is good - her daughter does a bang up job with it. Of course mircles do happen... 2004 may be the year Evanovich decides to visit mid-michigan...hahahah

Is this a play or a movie? When will it air on Tv or where can I see it?

It's a play, which - with 456 cubic tons of luck - could be made into a TV show. I'd have to bowdlerize it.
