hate, Hate, HATE!!!

6/9/04

Okay, so I'm up here in Boston and had a great experience today, and it's also Chopin the Dog's 14th birthday AND I know I just blogged about Reagan and everyone got mad at each other and one of my virtual friends is gone because of it, and then I found myself talking about abortion which I swear to god I NEVER do...
BUT...
Please take a look at George Bush's re-election page. That bastard sack of gnu-poop Bush is riding Reagan's still-warm shriveled corpse for political benefit, and it makes me SO FUCKING SICK I COULD JUMP INTO A SWIMMING POOL FULL OF "ICY-HOT."

Has he no shame? More importantly, why did this particular act make me so INCANDESCENT WITH RAGE when there are so many other things to be angry about?

I can only hope that not one single undecided voter in a swing state could be so chunk-minded as to equate Bush with Reagan. Because, as much as a rat bastard Reagan was, Bush would not be fit to caddy for the Gipper at Sawgrass. And even if they thought Bush and Reagan were ideological soulmates, the "memoriam" page on the re-election homepage is so gutlessly smarmy, so acid-drippingly cynical, that I would hope most rational humans would see it for what it is: the pathetic lather-face of a boy pretending to shave with his daddy's razor.

Eek. Yikes. Yuck. I just looked at the re-election page, and the memoriam to Reagan is a bit on the tacky side. I kind of feel like I need to wash my hands after viewing it. . .

Ian, your blog is great! I am sure that Steph will be back! And I agree with your last comment from yesterday about abortion. While the abortion rights issue doesn't light a fire under me politically like it did when I was younger, I would hate to see that right be taken away from my daughter and her peers. Anyway, I love your blog and while I don't agree with everything you (or others)say or think, I enjoy the virtual discussions and I keep coming back for more. Your blog is neither exclusionary nor disrespectful, and I appreciate the opportunity to share thoughts on your site.

Happy birthday to Chopin! I have been wondering about him . . . how did he like CA?

Getting furious is the only sensible thing to do. They want to embalm his corpse and have it on display with special laser-refracted glass eyes to produce an extra twinkle for flash photography, and his penis made permanently erect so that they can fuck it whenever they want to. Then again, Asscroft wants to cut off his head and keep it so he can use it to give himself blow jobs, and they want to stick his name and smiling-pedophilic-grandfather face all over everything they can get their grubby little hands on. Maybe the coming mandatory Reagan tattoo is going to turn out to be the "mark" foretold in revelation. "Ronlad Wilson Reagan"==6, 6, and 6 letters. Think about it...

A couple of renamings I wouldn't mind. Workplaces that actively discourage, through intimidation, any attempts to unionize or otherwise establish workers' rights, should be called "Reagan Shops". And Alzheimer's should be named Reagan's Disease, so that we may never forget what truly made him what he was.

Reagan. UGH! I thought I got over him back when his brain died, but it's all been coming back like bad acid. Thanks to him, having a vision completely disasociated from the real world is considered praiseworthy.

Anybody else remember from the movie "Flirting With Disaster" how Reagan's was the face on the illicit acid produced by Lily Tomlin and Alan Alda IN THE DESERT. I always thought that was pretty hilarious; now the $10 BiLL? I'll never buy a dime bag and feel quite the same way AGAIN. MY 11MONTH-Old loves the CAPS KEY.

Just returned yesterday from 1 week in Boston. Great @$##%$@ city. Check out the North End if you haven't already. And if you're going to dinner and someone else is payin': Grill 23

There's a political cartoon in the paper today of Bush putting a Bush/Cheney '04 bumper sticker on Reagan's hearse.
