¡Ay, caramba!

3/12/07

Is it okay that my daughter laughs like Bart Simpson?

Thanks for starting my day off with a laugh!

Yay, love the laugh, Lucy looks like fun!
Interesting game though, hope you have a good dentist in the queue!

since we are on a baby theme today, anybody got any good recommendations for a potty training guidebook (not for me, there is a little caveman out there). Not trying to make this an i-village forum but I have noticed there are some above average parents that are devoted readers.

We need to find a way to bottle that laugh.

caveman - we are fans of "Everyone Poops" and "Where's the Poop?" There are a couple of others, but these were great for getting past the mental barrier of doing #2 on the potty. Worked like a charm.

Warning...neither book is for those with issues about conspicuous representations of poop. You'd think this goes without saying, but I've heard more than my share of complaints.

thanks

"everybody poops" sounds like a Triumph the Insult Dog review of R.E.M.

Caveman -- Everyone Poops is a classic! A must-have for every family's library!

Love that laugh. My favorite sound in the world is a child's laughter, and Lucy has a hearty one.

I agree with Scruggs, though. You might want to let the baby teeth come all the way in before you start knocking them out. Ha! Only kidding.

I played Lucy's laugh several times to freak out my new dog, Cleo (not really--just to desensitize her to the mysterious noises that sometimes come out of the box on my desk [computer] or the box on our bookshelves [TV]). I don't hear the resemblance to Bart, but I did find it contagious. Caveman, I also got a kick out of the Triumph the Insult Dog review of R.E.M.--especially on the heels of their induction to the R&R Hall of Fame!

Just FYI - I am now "in the pool" as Tar Heel Bred. I apologize that it has the initial M instead of R for me, but my darling husband Matt set up and account and therefore it's his initial, although those are my picks.

For one shining moment it appears that I am at the top of the pool, since I'm the last to register. Clearly that won't last long!

Caveman: I know several people who have used the book, "Toilet Training in Less Than a Day" by Nathan Azrin and Richard Foxx. It didn't work with my first, but basically did with my second. My third will be 3 in June, but he has some chronic gastro problems so I won't be trying that method with him. He did poop on the potty for the first time Sunday, and it was one of the happiest days of my life. With all we've been through with him, it was a big deal!

I just checked Amazon and they do have the book. Good luck! Don't allow yourself to get frustrated, he'll do it eventually!
