SAINTS WIN! SAINTS WIN!

The Saints were created the same year I was, in my favorite town in America, and I've been a fan since I first started loving football, and especially since Tom Dempsey kicked the longest field goal in history. For years we've labored under that horrible moniker which I won't repeat here, because guess what, it's been RETIRED, chères!

For a town that was destroyed by nature, left for dead by our government, and was subsequently blamed for existing, this is the kind of redemption too big for platitudes. Yes, it's only sports, but during this season of such unrelenting bad news, we'll take the lagniappe when we can get it. Geaux team!

My parents are life long Saints fans and they were in the city for the past two weeks enjoying all the hype. I just hope they made it back safely from the French Quarter and Bourbon Street!

The indescribable joy and exhilaration of the people in New Orleans rose up to the heavens over our beloved city last night. Bless our beloved SAINTS, symbols of unity, hope, and possibility.
The WHO DAT nation is strong, resilient, and joyful.

Congrats to the WHO DAT team. I always root for whichever Manning brother is quarterbacking in the Super Bowl, but am happy for NOLA; they were the better team for sure.

Did anyone besides me think the much ballyhooed commercials were lame, lame, lame?

Also: The Who needs to know when to fold 'em. That was laughable, and I'm sorry to say that about a once-great band. On Facebook we're all making Depends jokes.

So happy for the Saints and the WHO DAT nation. Congrats on a great win for a great city. What's even better for me is that it came at Peyton Manning's expense.

And for anyone who didn't see Andy Samberg's skit on SNL this weekend as Rahm Emanuel, the video should be available on this link:

Pretty damn funny.

WHO DAT! So happy the Saints won! They're my second favorite team - I have to be a homer for my Redskins - so I was overjoyed that they won. Especially since my Washington Capitals also won, in overtime, beating the hated Pittsburgh Penguins. (Sorry to hijack football into hockey.)

The 'Ain'ts are no more!!!

It would be great to be in NO today!! I am so happy for the people there. I hope this victory can continue to help the city that care forgot recover.

And a new mayor too...all in the same weekend.

I was so afraid Pete was gonna hurt himself with those windmills. You know there must be some serious arthritis in that shoulder!
