"Dangerous Liaisons" set in high school? Man, I wish I was there for THAT pitch meeting. This li'l mean-spirited, garlic plot knot stars Ryan Phillippe, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Reese Witherspoon, and while the Stridex crowd may find something interesting in there (and seeing Buffy's boobs will satisfy some of my adolescent compadres), one can't help the feeling that this is a stylishly unnecessary Xerox of the original classic. It comes off like a bad high school rendition of your favorite musical, which means only one thing, folks: rent "Dangerous Liaisons" and bask in the glow of John Malkovich and Glenn Close instead.
