When Jim Carrey's son wishes his dad would always tell the truth for a whole day, it magically comes true in that "Freaky Friday"-"Big"-"Vice Versa" sorta way. Thus, Carrey has to go to his job as a slimeball lawyer fighting a big case and win without lying. It's a pleasant enough outing, with lots of heartstring-tugging scenes between dad and son, but seriously - when is the "I suck for not paying attention to my kid" plot device going to wane from the collective brains of baby boomer script approvers? From AT&T commercials to mainstream comedies, this what-about-the-children manipulation has got to stop. Jim Carrey is funny enough, and if you like his brand of spastic contortionism (I do) you won't be sad you spent the $7. If not, prepare yourself for a blast of the most piffilous scrapple currently multiplexing.
