When Romy and Michelle (Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino) prepare for their 10-year high school reunion, they look at their pasts and are unimpressed. Inventing a new world for themselves, they aren't quite smart enough to pull it off, and meet social disaster once more at the hands of the "A-crowd," a group of high school girls that made their lives miserable.

Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow are absolutely perfect as the shallow-but-honest Romy and Michele, a pair of best friends that have a wonderful screen synergy. A moive like this, one that constantly walks the tightrope between farce and real life comedy, is a hard sell - and it works largely because the two stars seem to be having such a great time. With a suitably mean-spirited Janeane Garofalo and wonderful mid-80s flashbacks (and music - Thomas Dolby rocks!) galore, you can watch this one with "Grosse Point Blank" and have a totally rad 10-year reunion lineup this weekend.
