"Scream" is the kind of movie so clever that you wrack your brain trying to think of where it's been done before. Chances are, anything as smart as this flick came from the same guy, Wes Craven, the man responsible for the genius "Nightmare on Elm Street" and "People Under the Stairs." Skewering every horror movie from "Prom Night" to his own work, "Scream" is a delicious rampage that manages to be genuinely scary, intelligent and funny at the same time. Folks can enjoy this movie even if they've never seen any other horror films before, but it certainly helps; the key to survival through Craven's twisted world is to know your plotlines and avoid being stupid. Featuring a spasmodic Skeet Ulrich and the pleasing triumverate of Drew Barrymore, Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox.
